Born in the Midwest and raised in Rochester, NY, Marye Lobb trotted the globe in search of inspiration and purpose. After listening to the sounds and taking in the culture of Ireland, Norway, Greece, Turkey, Brazil, Argentina, Chile and the Appalachian Mountains she found herself singing songs and playing guitar in New York City clubs. With her Bhuddist & Quaker ideals at heart she put herself through school at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Upon graduation, she released Finding Home in 2008 and subsequently toured the northeast and select cities in South America. She released NOT AT WAR in 2012 followed by an independent national tour to celebrate the work.
Lobb is now settled in Brooklyn where she performs her original music regularly in New York City and her in hometown of Rochester, NY at cafes, nightclubs, galleries, private events and her favorite - HOUSE CONCERTS. She is the director of the Marye Lobb Brazilian Jazz Band that plays weddings and specials events in the New York City area. Marye is also a ceremony singer - singing heartfelt songs and playing guitar, ukulele or piano at weddings, funerals and other special events. Her songs have been placed in various projects by photographers and filmmakers around the world. Marye teaches privately in NYC and is currently producing her third album: “Top of the Trees” - stay tuned...
