6 years strong
illuminating the city every june
The Newburgh Illuminated Festival is an event designed celebrate the diversity and dynamism of our wonderful river city with a day of music, art, dance, poetry, food, and more. It brings people and families together to ‘illuminate’ and market the City of Newburgh, it brings new people into the area, resulting in increased tourism, new business and positive regional perception. The festival was the brainchild of Newburgh mayor, Judy Kennedy.
The family- and pet-friendly event will begin at 12pm on Broadway near Liberty and Grand Streets. Four outdoor performance stages will be featured throughout the day along with the annual Colorfest, activities especially for children (on the lawn of Washington Headquarters) and musical guests at the Wherehouse (located at the corner of Liberty and Washington Streets).
The city of Newburgh is located about an hour north of New York City in the center of the greater Hudson Valley. Although easily accessible by car (with plenty of safe, free parking available), for those traveling via Metro North, free shuttle bus transportation to and from the Beacon train station coinciding with train arrivals from New York City and Poughkeepsie will be provided throughout the day.
Barnes & Noble will be partnering with our music committee to provide downloadable purchase of each performers music with barcode. Stay tuned for more info.
